Born in Calais, Francis Lockwood has been classified by "Jazz Hot" magazine amongst the 5 greatest european pianists. Professional since 1972 he toured with a lot of different artists such as Catherine Lara, Michel Jonasz, Didier Lockwood, Christian Vander (Magma) and played a whole year in the famous Michel Drucker's TV show "Stars 90".
In the early eighties, he performed in 250 shows with his brother, the famous violinist Didier Lockwood, and has been touring with his own trio since 1990.
Recordings : several albums with Didier Lockwood (one of them with Tony Williams), music for film maker Claude Lelouch, Manu le Prince ("Agora" and "Madrugada"). He recently released two albums under his own name, "Jimmy's Colours", and the latest in April 2005, "Nobody knows"

Autodidacte, en Italie, il joue très tôt avec des vedettes internationales, comme Chet Baker en 1987, et Steve Grossman en 1988, puis décide de s'établir à Paris en 1992 Depuis, il mène une carrière de leader en salles et en studio, et collabore avec de nombreux musiciens de la scène parisienne et internationale, comme Stefano Di Battista, Flavio Boltro, Louis Moutin, Glenn Ferris, Andrzej Jagodzinski, Michel Portal. Il joue dans des nombreuses salles et festivals internationaux tels que le Paris Jazz Festival, Era Jazzu de Varsovie, le JVC Jazz festival de Paris, le Northsea Jazz Festival de Rotterdam.. il est le frère du clarinettiste de jazz et de musique contemporaine Gabriele Mirabassi.
"Victoires du Jazz " en 2002, il a pluiseurs albums à son actif dont " Live at Blue Note Tokyo "et "Adelante!" 2011.

Self taught pianist since the age of eight, Alain Jean-Marie makes his debuts in the ballrooms of his native caribeean island of Guadeloupe, playing Photo : Yves Véronthe local biguine, latin jazz, salsa, and cha-cha repertoire. Alain Jean-Marie then sets sail for Canada between 1967 and 1970. After three years back in the Caribbean, he settles in Paris in 1973, and frequently backs renowned artists : Chet Baker, Sonny Stitt, Art Farmer, Johnny Griffin, Lee Konitz, Bill Coleman, Max Roach, Christian Escoudé...
Rewarded with the "Django Reinhardt" price in 1979 he often accompanies singer Dee Dee Bridgewater from 1986. IN the same year, he records a duo with double bass player Niels-Henning Orsted Pedersen. In 1990, he records with avec Abbey Lincoln, alongside Jackie McLean, Billy Higgins and Charlie Haden. He also plays and records frequently with Barney Wilen. In 1991, he records a trio with Henri Texier and Aldo Romano, and further records two duet albums with Michel Graillier. In 1992 is published his latest work "Biguine reflections", first of a series of recordings whereby Alain Jean-Marie explores the link between his Caribbean roots and be-bop culture, a reminder of the inspiration of his early 1969 Piano Biguines record. He records with André Condouant (Clean & Class - 1997), Roger Raspail (Fanny's Dream - 1997), en 2001 and sax player Jocelyn Ménard (Men Art Works - 2002).,Jazz Ka Philosophy (à New York), and in solo Afterblue, for which he receives the "Boris Vian" price from the "Académie du Jazz" (1999 - best French jazz album) et the "Django d'Or" (2000 - best French jazz musician). He reiterates in 2004 with That's What... He performs in solo or in trio form, and sides regularily with Sarah Lazarus, Pierrick Pedron, Boulou et Helios Ferré, Manu Le Prince…

Born in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil)he has played there with several famous artists such as Gilberto Gil, Chico Buarque, Emilio Santiago, Nana Caymme ect. He came to Paris in 1990, and started playing there regularly with Didier Sustrack, Les Etoiles, Tania Maria, Manu Le Prince, Raul de Souza etc. He performs all over France and Europe, and in Paris (New Morning, Club Med World, Sunside etc.) He has been much sought after lately for production and arrangement work in several recording projects in France and Japan.
Recordings : Chico Buarque, Luis Melodia, Paulinho da Viola, Ivone Lara, Tania Maria, Didier Sustrack, Gipsy King, Manu Le Prince, Catia Werneck, Ray Lema, and recently his own album project.

Frederic Sicard on drums

Born in Nice on the french "riviera", he is a drummer and percussionist specialized in latin rythms. He is also composer and arranger. He has been part of the Sporting orchestra of Monte Carlo during several years, and payed with many artists such as Claude Nougaro, Pierre Vassiliu, Bernard Lavilliers, Chance Orchestra, Les Etoiles, Sylvin Marc, Richard Galliano etc. As a trained percussionist graduated from one of France's top Music schools (Nice CNR) he also wrote a drum method (+CD) called "Groove & Technique of the Snare Drum" edited by ID music 96.
Recordings : Les Etoiles, Raoul Petite, and several records with Claude Nougaro and Bernard Lavilliers.

-->Raul Masacarenhas ( saxophone, flute )

Saxophonist since 1971, he studies for a year in the USA with Michael Brecker and Bobo Mover amongst others, settles in Paris where he plays notably with Tania Maria. He then spends a period of his career in Germany with the "Ipanema Quintet" et then back to brasil where he plays and records with Gal Costa. From then on he plays with renowned singers like Caetano Veloso, Maria Betania and plays avec Gilberto Gil between 1984 et 1998. He lives both in São Paulo and Paris where he plays in several bands and under his own name.

IN 1994, he creates the collective band "Collectif Mû" (first price of the international competition of the Vienna orchestra in 1995, first price of the competition at La Défense en 1996). He also plays in the regional orchestra of Grenoble and in the drummers's Simon Goubert quintet. IN 1998, he belongs to the collective band called "nuits blanches" (Petit Opportun (Paris), to the Laurent Courthaliac quintet, with Olivier Témime, and Pierre Drevet's sextet. He records with Charles Aznavour on the album Jazznavour. IN 1999, he blongs to the Belmondo/Dal Sasso big band, the d'Alfio Origlio quartet with Manu Roche et Rémi Vignolo. He played and plays with avec Manuel Rocheman, Steve Grossman, Alain Jean-Marie, Philippe Soirat, Luigi Trussardi, Jean-Philippe Viret, Charles Bellonzi, Peter King, Michel Graillier, Michel Zénino, Emmanuel Bex, André Ceccarelli, Christian Escoudé… and records several albums as his own leader.
